I wish you would, I wish we all could. I want to go on the '48'-'56 forum and tell them I need a driveshaft with yoke for a '48-'52 f1. I have been told that is a direct bolt in for the tranny I'm getting from Stu and the rear end in my '47 half ton. I'm sure some hot rodder has one behind his garage as it won't handle 400 ft lbs of torque. If I post that in the classifieds it will fall on deaf ears. Maybe some excursion and powerstroke guys will see it and gloss over it. It looks like a movement is brewing in the '48- '56 forum in that direction.

Gary - it's always been okay to start a thread, or to even piggy back on a thread, looking for pieces parts. You just can't talk money. Agree somebody has your slip yoke and shaft gathering dust on a shelf. There are pics of the tranny in the below old Bob Jones thread, and I can take new pics if needed of the output shaft with diameter and spline count. Stu

Gary, just start a new thread with whatever you are looking for. As long as it is related to '47 and earlier trucks, no problem. All price/deal details need to be by PM as Stu said.
Also you can not advertise items for sale in the main forum.

Hopefully the powers that be can create a place on this forum for buy/sell at some point?

Yes, also the f2 has a two piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing.

Here are some pics of the front driveshaft yoke, it has 16 splines. The other end of the driveshaft is the same in terms of yoke size. The driveshaft is about 65" from end to end of the yokes.

FYI, the output shaft on the light duty 3 speed is the same size/spline as a Chevy powerglide automatic. I found this out when I was looking for a new yoke for mine.
The PG uses a different U joint though, requiring a conversion joint to make it work.
I may have an extra Ford yoke here somewhere...

Keep the posts to a "I'm looking for part xyz for my truck" and keep it in PM and you are fine. Like others have said, keep discussions of money, etc out of general conversation and there will be no violation of guidelines.
On the flip side, please no posts saying "I'm selling part xyz" anything like that and I'll have to delete the post.
If anybody has any questions feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you ASAP. Thanks all

So not to step on toes or anything, do you think there will be some kind of update to the classifieds section to make it easier for at least the 47 and older trucks crowd and potential buyers to use? (please see earlier conversations related to this question). Just curious.

thank you for any input in advance.

Mark
