Does elevation affect boost? I live at 2200 feet and even with no leaks and a recent turbo my stock boost is always about 1-2 PSI less than most claim. No performance complaints though, she takes off like a scared rabbit. When I went to the coast I forgot to check it.
In theory it shouldn't because the turbo is compressing the atmosphere making it artificially dense.
Sorry its taking so long to reply internet offshore is not that reliable
Well mine takes off like a scared snail. J/K Thanks for all the input. I will be making a boost leak detector and checking the BARO MAP EBP after I clean out the EBP tube and sensor.
17-18 stock, about 22 with mods before chip.
Remember also that gauges & sensors can register a little different, so you may be fine with 15 lbs indicated on your truck.
Using a leak detector would not be a bad idea.
I use both an Edge Evolution (for its gauges) and ISSPRO EV1 gauges and the boost shown on the EV1 is usually a few pounds more than the Evolution. I think the Evolution gets its info from the on-board computer and of course the EV1 gets its info directly from the boost side of the turbo. The most I have even seen on the EV1 was about 20 lbs. The most I have ever seen on the Evolution is about 15 lbs.
