Remote Start Instructions

So I bought a remote start kit today on sale at my dealership. Kit didn't have instructions included and I didn't see the link on the box (dealer login required). So after cruising YouTube I found a few that mention the TPM module inside the glove box on an F150 so I assume that it's the same on the Superduty as well. I found a module that the plug appears to plug into but wanted to pill the audience for confirmation or a set of instructions. If this is the spot I can't see how the dealership wanted $300 to install because I did it in 711 parking lot in 5 minutes flat. That included programming the new keys. Anyone???

The basic remote start is simple. You only need the dealer to activate the remote start function so you can see it in the display so you can select the run time.

The keys are programmed along with the buttons for lock and unlock if you two previously programmed keys for the truck.

The VSS and long distance remote start is even simpler than the basic remote start with no dealer involvement.

The Remote access for cellphone remote start does require dealer to program the sim into the system and get you a 4 digit pin to use on the website.

The VSS and Remote Access installation instructions can be found here

You can find the installation instructions for the basic remote start at this link

Yeah I've got the kit pictured. I got the keys programmed and I believe the jumper wire is correctly connected to the TPM (inside right of glove box) which is what I'm trying to confirm.

I press the start button twice and get nothing so I assume programming is required for the basic 100 kit. My truck parks about 5 feet from my kitchen window so don't need long range.

Yup...click on the link i posted and download/read the install instructions....

http://www.fordservicecontent.com/fo...2-5-2014v2.pdf

you will need to go to a dealer or a mechanic who has the ability to access the ECM to "turn on" remote start....about a 10 minute operation with the Ford VCM II....but suspect they will want to charge you an hour to do it.

activation is on page 6 starting at step 24 of the Super Duty section...

Also, side note, you did install the hood switch? Or it has a hood switch already installed?

On my 2012 I have to hit the lock button once then double click the start button. Have you tried that?
