Hey guys new member here. So I just bought a 2008 F-350 super duty v10 lariat today and I noticed under the hood there a sticker saying this truck has a remote start built in but the dealership didn't have one to give me. I have to remote entry but not start. How do I go about getting one with paying the dealer to make one? I'd appreciate any advice thanks.
First off, you need to establish whether it is a Ford remote start or aftermarket remote start. You can then decide what fob(s) you need. Then inquire about programming the fob(s). Some members might have the instructions for programming the fob(s).
Check under the dash on the driver side to see if you can locate the remote start box. Even Ford remote start will have some type of box with wires spliced into the truck wires.

Hopefully this is the case for the OP. When I purchasing my 2016, I inquired with the sales rep if they could have a remote start installed. They said sure we can until they hit me back with the price. I said no thanks. I purchased a 100 series kit and was going to install the kit and have the dealership program the components. As I was reading the instructions I started to notice the remote start in my 2016 was possibility enabled. I got confirmation of the remote start when I about to install the wire harness and antenna. I found it was already installed but not in the glove box. On the 2016s it was located in the head liner. I had to remove the A pillar hand grip, the Driver's side visor and related hardware, then the center light and sunglasses holder. I got up in there and found the antenna was installed which confirmed the truck was set up with remote start. I went to the dealer and explained to the sales rep what I found. At first he was like, it didn't have remote start listed in the sale sticker. Then his manager came over and said it wasn't there cause my key didn't have engine turn over button. The manager called the manager spoke with the parts and then the service department. The service manager said have the truck come in for confirmation. The sales rep had me bring the truck down to the service check in and met me there with the service manager. They said we will have the tech verify your findings which I was fine with. I had 100 series kit which had 2 keys with me and they requested the parts. I said no problem. I was only there for my second key that was owed to me. The long and the short. They cut and programmed the owed key and the 2 remote start keys verified all the settings which were correct. Unfortunately one of the remote start keys was bum when the key didn't function the remote start but that was being handled currently. The dealer is taking care of it when I get the key.
Good luck with your project OP and you might get lucky.
