Forscan - Remote Start Enabled!
Since purchasing my F-250 nearly a month ago I have missed the use of my Ford Remote Access system. When I traded my F-150 I removed the remote access module and made it clear to the dealer that I wasn't including it with the trade.
The F-150's VSS module was not compatible and had to be replaced. The part #'s are different between the models, and despite having an OBD-II connector, the old VSS raised heck with the truck when I tried to use it. The Remote Access module is the same part number and was able to plug right into the new VSS.
My truck did not come with Remote Start. Everything I have read here and elsewhere is that you cannot enable remote start using Forscan. That is no longer the case. Using the latest Forscan beta, and a Forseal adapter from Amazon I was able to successfully enable Remote Start. It now works perfectly in the Remote Access app.
One interesting note; the Remote Access system is not tied to a specific vehicle. When I first tried to use it before enabling Remote Start, it told me that the vehicle did not have Remote Start enabled. Other features, lock, unlock, and find all worked the first time. I did nothing in the Remote Access portal to change vehicles. Once Remote Start was enabled enabled in Forscan everything worked!
One issue lingers; I cannot enable the Remote Start menu settings in the 4" display. I'm unable to see the IPC module in Forscan (or other CAN modules). I suspect it might be an issue with the new adapter. Anyone have suggestions on this?

Steve I know this post is about 6 weeks old but did you ever get this issue worked out? I have a USB adapter with a switch on it that allows me to switch between the high speed and medium speed can to make the changes in both BdyCM and IPC. My remote start features popped right into my trucks menu.
Which remote start kit do you have and which USB adapter do you have? I just purchased a 2015 F-250 that doesn't have the remote start and I am looking at getting a remote start kit and also an OBDII adapter to change some of the settings and also monitor some things. I am planning on using Forscan and possibly also Torque pro. On your remote start, how do you use the remote start feature (ex - press lock x3)?

Apologies for not catching this thread sooner. I wound up purchasing a different adapter that could do both OBD & CAN simultaneously. The adapter was an and that worked flawlessly.
