New to the form but my project is an 83 f150 4x4.. My buddy bought the engine out of it and tranny and tooke the original frame perches out.. My question is will 87-91 or 96 with the 300 in it .. Will those frame perches fit on my 83, thanks in advance
The later trucks have basically the same frame with just a very few minor differences. I have never done it, but don't see why you could not use the later perches.

The trucks I'm looking at is 87-89 range and there 4wd with 6cyl I'll try them and also my other option is the 2wd ones from 80-86 I didn't know if they would work as well? Thanks
Ford's 1980 - 89 master parts catalog says the part #'s from 80 through 88 were E2TZ 6028-B (R.H.) & E2TZ 6029-B (L.H.). But, they changed to E7TZ in 1989. I don't know the difference, but there must be a difference.
The 89-93 trucks use a round hydraulic dampened mount that is known to fail, and have different stands to suit them. The 80-88/94-6 mounts are a much better part, and are the same 2wd/4wd.

Here's what I added, but tell me if it is incorrect or otherwise needs to be changed. And, by the way, there are links in the text that didn't come across:
However, if you are going with a later model engine to put in one of the 80-86 trucks be careful as there was a period when Ford changed the mounts. This thread on FTE explains that the mounts changed in 1989 and then changed back in 1994. And, this thread on FTE explains what the differences are.

so your saying I can put a 94-96 302 motor in my 84 f150. 4x4
He said that? What engine do you have now? Are you going to stay fuel injected?
Im looking to get a 84 ford f-150 just the body. It’ll need an engine, from what it said it sounds like a 94-96 f-150 engine would mount right up to it. Is this correct?

Are you going to use the transmission in the 84? If the 84 had a 300 six, a 302, or a 351w, then the 84 transmission will work with the 94-96 302.
If the 84 originally had a 300 six, you will need to change the frame perches to fit the 302.
The easiest way to accomplish this swap is to get the 94-96 302, and strip all the fuel injection stuff off of it. Install a carb intake and use a carb on it. That way the 84 fuel system can be re-used, You will also need to take the later distributor out, and use the 84 style distributor, you should still have the 84 ignition module on the fender. So you can get a 84 distributor and drop it in place.
You will need a small electric fuel pump. The fuel injected engine will not have a place for a mechanical fuel pump for the carb.
