Where can I find the PDF referenced above for the analog steering wheel control wires?
Are you in need the the wiring diagram for the wheel control wires?
You will want the audio and the speed control.
What year are you working on I may be able to post them if I know what I am looking for.
Android radio wiring Android radio wiring description (see notes about SWC) Three untapped connections on the metra connector correspond with the “black, red/stripe black and unused” on the factory harness below. My spider senses tell me the swc wire is most likely the red stripe black but would like confirmation before I go cutting into the harness.

Sorry, I realize now my post was quite vague.
2003 Ford Excursion
I am installing an android 2 din radio which from everything I'm reading does not require the SWC interface modules.Tech support from the radio manufacture indicates this as well but they can't offer any guidance on my issue. The radio itself has two SWC wires but only ONE needs to be connected to the vehicle. I'm trying to locate the SWC wire for this generation super duty/ excursion. What color wire and at which connector. I've found some very conflicting info on the interwebz. Thank you in advance.

Reason: Adding pics
The Ex does not have a Can-Bus system. When I put my HU in there was a cable to connect with my steering wheel controls and the HU had an app to configure it. Was fairly easy, the worst part was running the backup camera cable.

Do you remember which wire you tapped into for your install?
Mine was plug and play, the connectors came with the unit. Where did you purchase the HU?
I found a lot of good info on YouTube especially when it came to installing the backup camera, have you looked there?
I think I found what I’ve been searching for. Thanks for your responses. The SWC wire is the LB/RD in far left position in this photo. It’s terminal 14 in the diagram of C290b. This is the plug on the rear of radio which contains all the rear entertainment connections
Would you be so kind to let us know how well your STW controls work with your new Android Head Unit. Mine are a bit sketchy. I'm using a 7" Pumpkin 8 core.
Thanks

Absolutely! I’m contemplating doing a full write up on this, as every thread I came across asking the same questions was either unresolved, or not very clear. If I can save someone some frustration later on, that’s what this site is all about.
I almost went with the pumpkin due to the AV outs and having the capability to stream Netflix etc on the rear dvd screen. I did not though primary due to the reviews of the pumpkin vs the Atoto A6.

I have the Atoto A6 and like it alot. So much I recommended it to my dad for his 06. I don't have steering wheel controls but he does so I'd appreciate anything you figure out so I can relay it to him.

Well I can tell you this. I just finished the install and not only does it work, it works well! You have the ability within the radio to assign buttons a certain value. I’ve assigned “next” to forward the song from my phone, volume up and down work like OEM and I’ve assigned “Mode” to switch to the “aux” app which plays the video in signal from the DVD. I can tell you it’s a success. It’s so nice to finally have streaming music again and a rear camera. I’ll be doing a write up soon. Probably post it in the Excursion thread.
Here is the PDF for the audio system in a 2006 F-Series.
OOPS forgot this one.
Also the signal from the ABS is the VSS signal. VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor.
For my backup camera I picked the signal off over at the module for the PAM (Park Assist Module)
The reason I went with the PMA wire for the signal was it seemed to be less problem at the time
I put the Head Unit in. You can fine the module behind the passenger side kick panel.

Here are both the plugs and wiring diagrams.
Here's my write up on the SWC install. Thank you all for your responses.
Hey I know this is a old thread but I am looking for a way to turn on a can bus 2007 f350 navigation radio on my 2007 f450. I only have the 24 pin connector that connects to my radio
I'm told the 2003 f350 6.0 diesel only uses canbus for the ficm and everything else is Ford protocol. My 2003 is having issues with drivability. Low power low throttle response, glow plugs not heating but an instant, unless I unplug the engine oil temperature sensor, which I have replaced. Truck starts and runs perfect with that sensor unplugged. Using a breakout box the protocol system is within correct voltages. But the canbus isn't, I have 2.45 volts on both high and low canbus wires. Is this a problem for this truck? And the new Ford oil temp sensor did not help, I cannot plug it in, as the truck basically goes dead, yet the Ford protocol voltages are affected by this sensor being in the circuit.
