Down pipe and exhaust

Looking for some info on a 3 in down pipe. Which one is a good one to get? My truck has a stock exhaust on it. I'd like to run the 3 in down pipe to a 4in exhaust all the way back, but am not sure do I put the muffler and cat back on the 4 in exhaust? Also what are the benefits of doing this? Will it increase mpg? Will I be able to hear the turbo whistle more? The truck has no other mods to it.

Diamond Eye is the best bang for the buck
Depends on your state laws, straight pipe is best, you'll have some drone but it wont be to loud.
Benefits, lower egts, faster turbo spool, and yes you will hear the turbo more when the windows are rolled down.

I live in a rural area. Do I need to put the muffler and cat back on? Or go true open straight pipe all the way back? Is there a kit that has the down pipe and the 4 in straight exhaust all together? Sorry for the questions, I'm a total noon to diesels. Also would I be wasting my time by doing this with no intentions of putting a tuner on it or upgrading the injectors?

As I stated above depends what your laws are in your area. You can just do the down pipe if you dont want the turbo back system. Have you seen how restrictive the stock down pipes is? That there is enough reason to change it out

Turbo back means a complete exhaust from down pipe all the way to the back of the wheel. The one posted is a straight pipe, no muffler, and cat delete.

My current exhaust is in good shape. Would I just need a cat and muffler delete along with a new down pipe. I'm gonna give riff raff a call tomorrow and talk it over with them.

If you want your exhaust loud straight piping is the way to go. If you want a quite exhaust than just buy the down pipe with cat delete

If I just get the cat delete and down pipe will I still hear my turbo spool and get all the other benefits as opposed to straight piping all the way back? I don't need a loud exhaust.

If you aint straight pipe you wont hear the turbo out the exhaust, but all the benefits will be there.

summit racing generally has better prices...stainless is recomended for longevity

I bought the mbrp kit with muffler from summit...and I bought an extra 4' piece of exhaust pipe incase I wanted to delete the muffler later...

My designs were to have this as my long haul vehicle... as I put 35,000 miles on vehicles a year. Thats why I wanted to stick with the muffler at first.
