Paintless dent repair?

I have a door ding on one side and on the other side a dual indentation where it looks like the previews owner was at a drive in diner where they put the tray on the door and he ordered 30 burgers and shakes. It doesn't look like the paint is cracked, but the dents certainly are annoying.

Have any of you guys had any paintless dent repair done on your excursions? If so, we're you satisfied? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

PDR isn't bad, and is a really good way to go if the paint/metal will allow. If you can and are that bothered with it I would go for it before the paint does crack. The longer it sits like that the more chance it has to chip once it is popped back.

I've had it done on a couple cars with excellent results.

My Lincoln was at one time my Father's, left to me when he passed. He had opened the doors into the poles in his garage leaving small dings on both front doors. You'd be hard pressed to find them now and the car is black.

In the end, it all comes down the guy doing the work.

It is not an Excursion, but on my F250 a branch fell from about 15 feet above the hood and put a nice 50 cent piece dent with a slight crease in the hood. I took it to a PDR place and the guy was very confident. I walked out about an hour later to see the work he had done and you cannot even see it was every there. I was amazed at the work completed and it only took a short time.

The trick is finding someone that is good at it.

1. Yes,
2. yes and no
Find somebody who has been doing it for a few years and uses more then one technique.
PDR is one of those things that seems to attract the "I started my own business" types, they buy a PDR system and viola they are out working on your car after watching the training video. You want somebody who has developed the skill set and has many PDR tools in his bag of tricks not just the "system" he bought from the trade show.

Thanks for the info guys. Building on someone that has experience, Matt - I see you are in PA as well. Do you remember who did it? Any idea on cost to have it done?

My Lincoln was done by Bill Rochford, The Dent Man. He's in NJ. I can't comment on price. When I first got the car, I mentioned it to friends that own a body shop. They had Bill meet me...and he wouldn't talk about price. He said that your friends said "they owed you one" and took care of that. (I was floored!)

Also, there's another local body shop that uses another guy who's name escapes me. I've known the guys at this shop for probably 30 years and they'll get a number of cars lined up...and have him come in. I've seen his work and he also fixed a dent in my wife's car.

I'm in Langhorne, PA...FWIW

I'd check in with your local exotic car guys/clubs. Porsche, MB, Maserati...guys with expensive metal cars that would be looking for the best in this type of repair.

I had a person run into my Mustang and I did my own work, and removed the dents that were made by the other persons car, and it doesn't look like any thing ever happened...I went to harbor freight and got a dent puller that I can hook tomy air compressor and a body dent kit that I used my self, but I also feel confident in my abilities when it comes to working on my own cars

Sure he is, he is describing a pneumatic suction cup dent puller. One of the hundreds on PDR tools of the trade.

I had it done to a pretty large dent in the middle of the left rear door on my Expedition when I had it. It was a round dent about 5 inches across. Took it in to an actual PDR shop where I knew they did a lot of work since that's all they did. I was shocked when the guy brought my ride back around to show me the results. I looked at that door from every angle I could to try and see where the dent was and never could tell exactly where it was previously dented. Worth every penny IMHO.

I meant he's talking about the larger dents while we're talking about smaller dents that the slide puller would never work on.
