Can anyone tell me which model Autolite distributor this is? It's on my 1968 F100 240ci 6 with 3 speed trans. What would replace it, and where can I find one?
Thanks,
Wow, what a great site! Would it be worthwhile trying to have my stock Autolite distributor rebuilt or would I be better off purchasing a NOS one. Any aftermarket suggestions, and knowledge on approximately how much they cost?
Sure, if you can find someone that does it. What you should look into as well is the particular distributor advance curve. Depending on the application (truck or car) and engine, the timing can vary a lot. A replacement or OEM curve might be pretty anemic. Figure $100 for a replacement, maybe another C note for setup and advance curve. This is a bargain. Best bang for the buck "upgrade" around. You can learn to do this yourself, on the motor, but it's a little tedious.
