I have heard alot about these edge lift systems, who sells them and how compleate are they for their price. I am looking to lift my 2003 F-350 sd with a lift big enough to clear 36s. Any suggestions? I have to tow horse trailers so going with the bigger lifts won't work in my area. As it is I am going to have to make or find a heavy duty drop hitch to handle the trailer we use now.

It would be very nice to have a shop but I think it could be done in a driveway. With a buddy if you know what you're doing it should take 6-8 hours.

Oh yeah, with the earlier comment I was just giving Team Edge a hard time

from what i have found it seems to be about the same price as most 6 to eight inch lift. i am just wondering how easy it is to instal. This web site is not the only place i have heard about " the edge system". From what i am hearind its well worth the money, and besides it is not like i am planning on this swap right as i get back from my deployment. so i have three years or so on my truck so when that is done, or maybe before i will have done to it what i want, until then its just the small mods, engine work, stuff like that.

The Edge lifts are a little bit more money (I think about $500) than others.

To fit 36" tires for the street and mild off roading a 6" will work.
If you really want to beat it off road a 8" would be the better way to go. I like the Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips myself.
For towing I'd recommend some load assist air bags.

A list of dist. can be found on Donahoe Racing's website. I've recieved good customer service from Marty Garza of Truck Toyz in McAllen TX and would highly recommend him.

Lifts aren't hard to install. Having access to a shop is nice and will make it easier IMO. My friends and myself have lifted our SDs in about 6 hours.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, through donahoe's web page they direct you to orws page for the edge systems, looking at their price for the edge system and i was also looking at the full traction system for a six inch lift with shocks is roughly $1300. So like i said the systems i have been lloking at are around the same prices, the only difference is the edge you need to buy shocks. I plan on doing milid wheeling with it so the six will work for me. Like i said before i need to keep the towing and hauling side of the truck there because of my girlfriend and her horses and my other projects, looking at getting a trailer to haul projects and stuff, so the it needs to remain as close to stock in that portion of the lift but the stock tires and set up just don't look right to me so bigger is the answer. Also would a set of 4.56 gears be a good idea for the future or should i wait to see how well the 5.4 handles it. I plan on chipping it, an intake system, and maybe some other small mods to the engine to gain some power but really wondering how well it will handle with the 36s under the truck. Looking at other pages and reviews i think its the edge with a duel front shock set up with the 7100 series on all four points. Any other suggestions will be greatly absorbed.

With the 5.4 I'd upgrade to 4.56 gears.......

With the 6" lift the 5100s and the 7100s can valved the same specifically for the SD........7100s look a lot nicer, but would really only be needed if you plan to work the truck hard off road.
Since the shocks are valved to flow a lot on compression they won't overly harshen the ride with a dual setup.....the main difference will be better handling and less body roll.

I would also recommend an adjustable trac bar.

Hope this helps.

Ok, I'll bite.

We have lifted several dozen SDs and in my opinion I believe there is not a better kit on the market, period. They are by no means the least expensive but you truly get what you pay for. They offer superior construction, performance, and on & off road ride quality. Not to mention they are backed by a lifetime warrantee and outstanding customer support.

Now having stated that, specifically which 36 would you like to run and on what wheel? Some are larger than others and the bigger issue with these is that they are typically 14.50s. This tends to create rubbing issues which require a little more lift than normal. Most combinations will clear with a 6" lift but some such as the PJ will require 8" to avoid any rubbing. However, with your 5.4 and since you tow you might want to be a little more conservative with your lift. A PJ 35 measures 35.4" unlike most 35s which measure in at 34.6" and this makes for a great combination with a 6" lift.

BTW, some dealers offer free shipping. Thanks, DC!

Hope this helps.
