Hood tilt/latch question
I have the MMB/CPP HOOD TILT KIT. getting ready to install it, but I don't have any good latching mechanism or spring. Nothing.. I got the truck in pieces. Is this kit from midfifty everything I need to get my hood to close and shut properly?

It looks like it. It has everything my '53 has.
I notice it says not to use the safety latch on a tilt hood.

I just noticed the latch I pointed out is a short handle one. You probably want the stock one.

The kit I posted has both of those items. I don't understand what you're trying to tell me. Is there stuff in that kit I don't need?

Oops Sorry... I looked at the picture of the TILT hood kit on midfiftys website and NOT the hood LATCH kit that you listed.
That is 2 Oops posts for me in 2 days!! Is there some kind of penalty for that.....

The short handled latch will work fine. It fits the '53-'56 trucks alike.
What you don't need is the safety latch. It is circled in the kit picture, and referenced in the underlined text from Mid Fifty's website.

Once again, vendors develop parts like this to be bolt-in so you have to buy the whole package to get the basic parts.
