A fine starting point. It even has the 5 Star Extra deluxe trim. What are your plans for it? If the plan is to keep it halfway original, I'd suggest doing some research on the original wheels. They'll be the widow maker Firestone RH-5° variety. Stu

The cab is what originally pushed me over the edge to go and get it. I am concerned about the rims, as I have been reading a bit of the posts here concerning them. How hard is it to replace these? Also, apparently the brake drums are no longer sold? What is typically done regarding brakes on these beasts? I'm pretty wide open to the potential possibilities for this truck.

Alternative wheels are out there. Either 20" tube type with the side ring type locking ring, or tubeless in 19.5" or 22.5". There's a lot written on them if you do a Google search. The brake drums are probably a harder fix if replacements are required. Max over size on the fronts are .020" and on the back .060". Finding good used is needed since NOS aren't available and no repop's are being made. Brake shoes can be relined, and maybe given thicker material, to compensate. Stu

Truck looks pretty straight and complete to me, but imho, those gauges gotta go. I had a mixture of wheels on my F-6 so I just opted to go with new 9R22.5's all the way around. Do you intend on a completely stock restoration? Good find. Check with Chuck's Trucks for brake drums and shoes.
