They've got that little computer that can tell them if things have been tampered with.
I agree with Buzzard - either you've got the worst luck in the world, or there's something wrong.
Did Ford ever give you any reasons for why the trannies were lunching themselves (besides the chip)? Did they pinpoint the failure, or just say "trannie's blown. You need a new one"
I hope you get it figured out- the way I see it, if you haven't modded anything, then you're eligible for the lemon law.

I think that Ford is just tired of putting trans in it. Coming from the owner of a possessed truck, that had EVERY BOLT in the extension housing break off, on my bone stock vehicle.
I think I probably have him beat on worst vehicle luck.

If you're completely "stock" I don't know how they can refuse to honor a warranty unless they can prove abuse. Try going to a different dealership or even over the local dealerships' heads directly to Ford's customer service dept. Use all options available. Do a Google search with "South Carolina" and "Lemon Law" in the title box. You should find more than you ever wanted to know.
It's a 1997 that I bought used. Apparently, the truck is going to need a new engine. They aren't 100% sure what is wrong with it, but they know it's internal, and NO ONE here will work on the engine. Not even the dealership.

There's something fishy goin' on here. A Ford dealership won't work on a Ford truck???? Nobody will work on a Ford truck????
