Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Went out to do some long range shooting at the farm this afternoon and found my range getting filled up with 300 head of sheep. I did take a lot of BB's with me, but not that many.
Oh well, should be good coyote hunting in just a few days.
Evan, the ionizer works by comparing air in a sealed chamber with air brought into the "nuked" chamber or something similar to that. I wonder if your HVac (if you have one) or something similar is stirring up something at night. Unless you turn the rheostats down, they would run more at night than they do in the daytime. The one they put in out at the farm also has a self purging or cleaning type cycle it goes through as well.
Have you checked the filters on it (if you have one)? That was mom and dad's problem with theirs.
Good luck with the 0300 wake up calls.
They are the ionization type. We don't have problems when cooking, but they seem to like going off at night. Two of them are combo smoke/CO detectors.
I have had quite a few problems with those annoying combo detectors in the new houses. Usually within the first year. You're not alone there. I replaced my combo's with the good'ol standard Kidde smokies, I never have problems now unless they need a new 9v battery. It is code today to install the combo's in new construction.
Morning 26 at the compound light out with that moon. Sweet Home is 27 guess I need to finish getting things ready for the cold. Usually need about 3 days in the 20's before anything pipes start freezing so it time.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 33° outside. Fortune tellers say it is only going to get up to 38 before the Freeze stuff starts again tomorrow.
Taking off for the VA doc in Salem. Then on to Costco. Have to be at the VA at 0830 so have to get going. Have a good day everyone.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 36° and seems to be dropping like a rock.
Made it home from Salem, the VA and Costco a little while ago. Had to stop at the Tribal Medical Clinic to pick up 3 Rx's for the Warden. That has turned into an indescribable task that is totally FUBAR. Finally got 2 out of the 3. Even though the 3rd one is critical meds and has refills left, (she goes back to the cardiologist for her every 3 month checkup next month), they are now saying that it is an old Rx and they can't fill it. She's only been getting this Rx filled out there since her open heart surgery in 2005. We ran into a problem last week with an Rx last week and I'm thinking it has more to do with insurance confirmation than anything else.
They told us today that existing Rx's will now take 3 to 5 days to fill and if it's an expired Rx or an Rx requiring doctor confirmation, it will take 7 or more days. What are those people doing out there.
And people complain about the VA! I go on line, log in, click the box for the Rx I need and 2 to 4 days later it is in my mailbox!
Good evening everyone. The new muffler sure is quiet. All I hear in the cab is engine noise through the firewall. It's hard to tell how it sounds outside. At idle it sounds about the same as it was straight piped.

Stand on the side of the road and have your wife drive past you at 25, 45 and 55. Or, just assume it sounds O.K. after the first five Cop cars you drive by, ignore you. You can reduce that to one if it happens to be a Motor Officer.
Morning 30 at the compound and 31 in Sweet Home freezing rain. I'll be watching to see what happens. If it starts to get real bad I'm heading home while I can. Put Studded tires on the Wife's and Daughter's cars but nothing on my truck.
