2016 BS Thread...
Darn, when you take two weeks to take a trip & try to relax, then you need a week to get caught up when you get home...then, you need another 2 weeks R&R to get over the first two weeks plus the week of catching up! Such a vicious cycle...

Roy you are correct, the coffee was / is the #1 prescription this morning!

Beautiful pictures Jim, you're quite handy with the camera..
Thanks John and Roy.
I hadn't decided whether to call him "Ham" or "Alvin" but this little guy seemed to really be hamming it up for the camera. I got a number of slightly different "poses". I'm waiting for the bill from his modeling agency....
Some other things we ran into on our July visits. We made a number of trips into Crater Lake National Park during our trip. We were camped only 7 miles from the North Gate and I have a pass so we spent a lot of time sight seeing after we limited out on trout in the mornings...about 1/2 of the East Rim Drive was still closed due to snow and winter debris.
First were the folks with Texas License Plates on their car. I can understand snow being somewhat of a novelty, but short pants?
Then there are the scientific research boats. These boats have been on the water for several years. They were flown into the caldera by helicopter.
The July 10th trip provided some excellent weather for us. Snow in July? The Warden was far from excited. We did go prepared with suitable clothing including 0° coats.
