Morning guys. Evan, I'll do that! Chris, I should either be able to stay here at the plant, or, if need be (and not an option I would like to do), I can "bump" someone from one of our coal plants.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Dodging rain storms this morning. 80% chance of T-Storms today. Should make the carnival goers happy!
Good luck Pat. Should it become necessary to make the move to a coal plant, is there one close enough to commute to? Can you apply any military time to the retirement plan you have?
Morning Jim. We have two coal plants, one in Omaha, and one down south at Nebraska city. I'm hoping to get to the Omaha plant, the Neb. City one is about an hour drive from the house. No dice on the military time, that would certainly be nice, though. I'm just hoping they'll need me for decommissioning, since I calibrate and repair all of the radiation detection equipment. I'd rather do that, than have to put someone else out of a job at the other plants.

Having to put someone else out, is not a good feeling. Having to adjust to new surroundings and job locations / way of doing things can be just as bad or worse.
It would be best to be able to stay put, but any idea how long are they going to delay dismantling the plant after decommissioning?
When they decided to decommission Trojan here in Oregon, it seemed like it was all said and done, dismantled within about 4 years. Although the fuel rods are still in special casks in a "no go" corner of the property waiting movement to a National Repository that hasn't been built yet. The reactor and other radio active components were removed and buried in a big hole in Hanford within just a couple of years IIRC.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Only got wet once. Survived the Kiddie Parade. Thinking about going down and getting some BBQ Chicken but may wait until tomorrow.
