Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
Seven of us planted 2000 trees on the bank of the N. Yamhill River at the gun club today. A few years ago an intelligent college eeeeejucated type removed some trees and scrub brush off the North bank just up stream from the club. That area eroded and then there was a land slide that slightly altered the course of the river. It allowed the River to begin eroding the bank near our covered bench shooting line for pistols, shot guns and 100 yard rifle. We are trying to get some heavy deep root foliage started on the river bank in an effort to mitigate the erosion and save our primary shooting positions and the pistol pits. These willows are deep root, fast growing and have been very successfully used in other areas so we thought we would try. Cost the club $500 for the 2000 starts.

We tried that liberal moving target thing guys. Oregon DEQ gave us tickets for spreading bio contaminated organic material without a permit. Federal EPA sued us for a violation of THEIR civil rights and the darned Humane Society ripped us for cruelty to animals.


Just between us boys...(and I'll deny it to the day I die) we now have electronic coded locked gates on the range, can no longer be seen from the road and members only are allowed and "What happens at YCSA stays at YCSA..........


Going to go work some more on attitude adjustment. Between the funeral for an acquaintance and past student of mine yesterday and then the news on damage to our camper the old attitude is sucking butter milk and doesn't seem to want to control too easily this time around.

 

Good job on the tree planting, Jim...now if you could just take care of some of those targets....
