My problem was at first: trans would be in linp mode and if i ahut it off and turn it on then itd work good. It did that for a week and then just completely went potatoe. After that inreplaced the pcm, tps, vss, shift pack and thenpart on thenleft aude of trans. Now for not having much time/money (truck is called "child support express" for a reason) i refuse to take it to a mechanic. Id like to get some sort of pointing firection before i go out and buy a obd reader. And whatnwould be a good obd reader?

why not try jumping the wires in the test port and reading the flashes on the dash?
connect the grey/red and white/pink wires.
test light alligator clip to the positive side of the battery, and the other end of the test light to the pink/light green. if connected properly, the test light will just barely come on.
get inside the vehicle and turn the key to the run position and count the flashes of the check engine light. it should give you a series of either 2 or 3 digit codes: 2 flashes, 7 flashes is a 27 code, 3 flashes, 3 flashes, 2 flashes will be a 332 code.
write down the codes and get back to us and we should be able to figure out what the deal is.
