During all of the repairs I have done this holiday break I realized that the plastic inter-cooler/radiator cover has seen better days. I would like to replace it, but am having some trouble finding the right part number. Any help is appreciated.
I am looking for the black plastic piece in the middle and bottom of this picture. It has a "Ford" oval on it, but that is not required if one without the Ford can be found.
I think Clay lists it as a tool tray radiator cover. I'm Mobil right now but when I get to my computer, if someone hasn't already provided a link, I will.
$109 for a piece of plastic, well you get what you pay for sometimes. Tool Tray, how appropriate the name is.
I am going to get one on order today because I feel that it is an eye sore when I open the hood.
Guitarpicr, thanks for the compliment. I took that picture last summer down by the lake. If you have not seen my upgrade/mod thread (link provided below) you will be amazed at what it looks like now. Just finished putting wire loom on all of the exposed wires. Cleaned up the old red tape and re-taped all of the loom joints. I feel this will help make the turbo and the spider the crown jewel instead of some 16 year old red tape.
I received the new tool tray in the mail the other day and it looks great. It came with 9 plastic pop rivets which is a good thing because I destroyed the old ones. It has the Ford embossed on it and also has stickers for the belt routing. Makes the truck look even more new, slowly but surely I am getting there.
She is looking and running better than she probably did when new.
That is an old picture just after buying the truck and spending some quality time cleaning it up. It looks much better now with a matching set of batteries, no sticker on the A/C and no wastegate solenoid.
Yes, my mind is sick... At least I am sick in the healthy way I guess...
I painted the I/C tubes with high temp paint. I scratched up the passenger side a little bit when doing my holiday break mods, but nothing I can't touch up with the parts around it masked off.
I need to take the jack pieces off and clean/paint them as well. The half *** stickers don't do it justice.
