While changing the fuel pump on my 1976 F350/460 Supercab, I noticed the bottom header of the radiator was oozing coolant. The radiator was installed in 1990, so can't complain about quality. The radiator has a Lifetime Warranty but the radiator shop that did the install has gone out of business. The model of this radiator was a G&O 3480. I need some help in finding a replacement. I want Brass top and bottom headers--no plastic. This truck is a camper special, with heavy duty cooling package. Sure would appreciate suggestions on where to find the appropriate replacement.
People on here have been high on Champion Radiator. Aluminum Radiators and Shrouds for Classic Cars and Hot Rods http://www.championradiators.com/ (Share from CM Browser)
I was very happy with quality and delivery from NPD. Got it in 2 days and great quality. Not a cheap as others but authentic if that's what you are going for. 1976 F150 two wheel drive with 360 and C6
The original 2 row radiator in my truck started leaking at the header as well last week. I found a great old school radiator shop with a guys who's been in business since '71 and had him look at it, not fixable but recorable.
He gave me quotes for a 2, a 3, and a 4 row recore and rebuild using the original tanks. The $600-$675 prices pretty much blew that option away. The other option he offered was a new radiator with brass tanks for $447.00. The part number he had listed in his book was 433-444.
I wasn't going to settle for a cheap $199.00 Chinese built radiator with plastic tanks, the kind that are sold through oreillys and the cheap parts places.
I looked at the aluminum options which look nice but they're far from stock in appearance which is something that's important to me with my truck.
Through all my research I found one consistent number popping up between all of the 3rd party retailers (NPD etc), it was "444". I was able to determine the manufacturer of those radiators was Thermal Solutions Manufacturing. A search of their website yielded the applicable part number of 433-444.... This unit was built with brass upper and lower tanks and is a 3 row core. I called Thermal Solutions and was told they don't sell to private parties, so I called www.radiators4less.com and asked about that specific part number and manufacturer, I got a call back from Cara 5 minutes later with a confirmation that radiator was in stock and could be shipped to my door for $359.00.
The radiator arrived at my door the following day and it's nice. My only complaint being the drain petcock being plastic instead of metal. The radiator is well built out of brass and copper/aluminum and It bolted right in place and everything fits well including the shroud.
I've put about 100 miles on it and it's great, in fact it cools a lot better than the original... So much so that it's rare to see the temp needle get into the operating range after warm up.
I recommend calling Cara at radiators4less ans asking for this unit.

I'm proceeding along the same lines as you, Joe. I live in Northern VA, and there's a small radiator shop about 13 miles from me in Woodbridge, VA. I spoke to the owner yesterday about my options, and he suggested I drop by this morning so he could take a look, get some measurements, etc. My all metal radiator has 3 rows (definitely thicker than the one in your pictures). He and I were thinking about a re-core, but he said he would look for a new replacement so we could compare costs. It has to be all metal, regardless. I will pull the radiator on Monday, and have it ready to take to him if I decide to go with a re-core. I'm with you re. the aluminum radiators--they're definitely good looking but I'm old school when it comes to putting "flashy" stuff under the hood
