Ok, I am looking for the thread on how to disassemble the power fold mirrors on my 2011 F250.
The mirrors work in every way except they will not fold in or out. You can hear the motor start but then stops right away. It does not sound like the gear is stripped just that the motor is stuck some home. It happened to both mirrors about the same time.
I was going to take one apart and see if there is a issue. I can't see there being a electrical issue, but maybe, since the driver side starts then stops within 1 second. It's hard to tell about the passenger side since the switch is on the drivers side.
I have, I can close and open them manually with no problem. I sprayed some Lithium grease in them and still nothing. Folding is the only problem, everything else works on the mirrors just fine.
I called the dealer and they said they do have the folding motors. But he said it $94, does that sound right? If so is there somewhere else I might be able to get them? And I have to order them. I was going to replace all of them while apart but not for that price.
This is the motor I pulled out. There are 2 of them in each mirror. The part number the Ford dealership have me is: 7C3Z17D696B

I googled that and there are some on eBay for about $58. Might try that to see if they work.
Anyone having problem with their mirror not folding. I do recommend doing this to find out whats wrong. The first mirror took about 2 hours to get apart and about 1.5 hours to get back on. That also does not included the time to troubleshoot and find out what was wrong.
The second mirror was about a total of 2 hours from start to finish with trouble shooting.
The mirrors will not ford with a bad motor, if the bottom one works then it will fold very slow. The top one is just a helper and is needed to fold the correct way.
I am still looking for a motor, gonna try ebay and see what there is out there. The dealer wants $110 per motor and I need one for each side.
