My new ScanGauge II

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not...
thing says I'm getting 4 mpg in the city and 8 on the highway, but I know it's doing better than that.
It was supposedly set up for a V8 powerstroke which is what I have.

Did you get the instruction book with it? If not, go to the website and read about how to calibrate the Scangauge. It is a process.

Thanks Dimond. Following the quick start, nothing happened...I finally dove into the long guide and found that it was set for 38 gallon tank, not my 29 gallon tank. That ought to do it.

set the fuel,

set the engine,

set the speed,

the next fill up enter the amount of fuel at fill up and the cost.

You'll see the accuracy start to get better. The amount of fuel used will usually be accurate within a couple of tenths.

You may wanna try to completely reset it and start from scratch.
I love my SG2
Not sure how you do what I said though.

I love my scan gauge except when it shows my mpg at 7mpg while going up a grade or on acceleration. LOL

I must still be doing something wrong...will read the manual again when I feeling patient...the thing's annoying right now. So I'm taking it, I shouldn't keep hitting the reset button right now (on the same fillup)? I rode DOWN to the big city and got 24 mpg, then I reset it and rode UP back to home and it got 7.4 mpg. Never 99 mpg while coasting downhill though.

Are you going to "fillup" to put in the amount of fuel at fillup?

I use my SGII, and really appreciate all of the information it provides. Not to mention it does so at a bargain price.

However, when it comes to MPG on my 6.7 I have never been able to get it dialed in and have finally stopped trying. I just use the factory idiot gauge information for an idea as to what it it.
