Clutch

So just a quick question, i have a 77 f250 4x4 with a 4spd tranny, the past few years the clutch has always been pretty hard to press and youd have to muscle it pretty hard. Four days ago i pressed the clutch in to start the truck and i heard a loud pop and after that the pedal has been 20x easier to press down. I replaced my pressure plate, clutch disc, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing, all of which were pretty well shot. After installing the new parts and putting everything back together the clutch is still very easy to press. My question, is the nature of this truck/transmission supposed to be fairly easy to operate or is it supposed to be stiffer like it used to be?

I would believe that a fairly easy pedal press would come with a stock clutch, and a hard press would come with a heavy duty or high performance clutch?

Maybe a few years ago the linkage or something else was not quite right and the pop was something going back to where is normally should?

As a the clutch finger springs get worn or some break, it gets easier to press.
