remote entery

This question got lost in a different thread so here it is in a new one...

If the truck has power door locks, which it does, did it have a remote entry too? How would I find out if it does? I never got a fob when I bought the truck from the last owner and never thought to ask.
If the truck does have a remote entry how would I code a new fob to work with my truck?

Maybe this is what you're looking for??? See if you have the module under your dash.

Does anyone have the exact part # for the module for a '96 250 XLT? I have one marked F6AB13C791AA but I'm pretty sure that's for a Crown Vic....anyone?

Is there anyway to get the part needed out of another truck and add it to mine? I read the post that Mike1 had posted and went and looked and my truck did not come with keyless entry. I would just rather have a OEM unit then aftermarket although remote start would be nice.

Some good reading here: Remote Keyless Entry module is burned up. - FSB Forums

To summarize: Ford used the same RKE module in many vehicles from ~1990 to 2000. If the RKE plugs in, it will most likely work even though the part number listed for your exact model/year may be different.

It is a COMPLETE under dash harness and cannot be easily integrated

I agree with Brad, if you need the complete harness then you have your work cut out for you. If the harness is there, but missing the RKE module, it's a simple plug-n-play.

I didn't see anything that looked out of place, I think it just did not come with it. I guess I will look in to the aftermarket route, thanks guys.

Get a remote starter kit some of them come with remote locks as part of the package. When I had my 98 Chevy pick up I had put one in and work well. I think I paid $50
