Fuel Pump

I had my no 8 injector replaced, dummy plugs, stand pipe, and blue spring update completed 2 weeks ago. Last Thursday I ring out my fuel pump is going bad on the frame rail under the driver 9G282c is the part number. Where's the best place/price to get it? I'm going to do this myself?

Its not too bad of a job. Its only 3 connectors, 4 lines and 3 bolts to get it out. Don't over tighten the bolts when installing the new one, the torque spec is only 11 lb/ft (15 Nm).

And you can get just the pump without the housing for less money. I have on my shelf ready to go in whenever.

Is it better to just piece it out or replace the entire assembly?

If I go with the pump only anything additional I need?

I can't find any videos walking through how to do a replacement of either. Sounds simple enough but I would like to see what I am in for before I open it up.

Thanks

Easier to clean the bore if you have it off the frame.

The other thing I would do while its out is to pull the water separator cover and clean that gunk out. The gasket swells so you need to get a new one of those, or put the gasket in the sun until it shrinks. I've done that twice so far.

You used to be able to get the gasket cheap from Ford but now they bundle it up with some other parts into a higher priced kit, and I've never used those parts.

Maybe Bismic or someone else has the International or Racor part number.........

Or just toss the cover and install the cover with the updated drain plug.

Just an update I put the whole assembly and the job was much easier then I anticipated. 12 pt 13mm Socket, fuel line too from Autozone, and she was in and out in 1hr.

Note to self - Fumoto Valve
