throttle cable end?

Just drove my 51 F3 home. My friend did a super job on the engine rebuild.
We put a new carb (from Dennis Carpenter) on the engine and it has the throttle linkage but my question is , What goes on the throttle cable end to attach it to the linkage and where can I find one.
Put new F250 rims and 235R85 16" tires on iut and it looks great. Will take picture to post when I go home.

Are you asking about the hand throttle? Does the new carb have a ball end? I would guess you need to replace the ball end with a cable connection. Vintage Speed sell them, easy to swap. Assumes the DC carbs are an exact copy...

Yes, the carb is an exact replica and has the ball on the carb linkage. I thought there was a piece that went on the cable that fitted around the ball and tightened down on it. Thanks for the infomation. Dol you know if the bumbers from 50 model F! would work on 51 F3?

I'm not real clear on what you were saying. The ball doesn't have a cable to it.

My 52 F3 has the ball on the passenger side of the carb. It has a rod that snaps over the ball on the carb and a ball on the firewall linkage.

The hand throttle is on the driver side of the carb and is the piece that Ross posted. The cable end goes through and you tighten the screw down on the cable.

The earlier cars and trucks used some kind of hard linkage, almost like the throttle linkage, to do the hand throttle. Not sure why DC chose to copy it for a carb that will be used on 8BA's/8RT's 99% of the time.

My 48 F1 with a 226 has a ball on the linkage that the hard linkage "snaps" on to. It's a solid rod, about 3/16" that has a spring loaded tubular "trap" on the end to "capture" the ball on the linkage. The carb. is a Holly 1bbl.

Is that on the hand throttle, or the accelerator pedal linkage? Can you take a picture?

Throttle linkage

It's the accelerator linkage coming from the foot pedal. It's solid linkage all the way. I'll see if I can get a picture loaded. Mine doesn't have a hand throttle.

I'll take pics of my stock 226 when I get home tonight.

EDIT: Is this carb on the 226? I just reread the thread, and it doesn't say which engine it's for.

It's a Holley 94, so I'm sure it's a V8
