I think repair cost on the aluminum body will come done as the shops get better with the process of repairing aluminum.
I check with a body shop right up the road he wanted 4200 to paint my truck
and aluminum is very very hard to work with. You can take a 2pound hammer and whack the **** out of it, and it would hardly hurt. I lost my *** repairing a 2012 Dodge dart hood, aluminum, small dent, I gave it hell. Plus you cant weld to it without a special welder since aluminum melts. And I cant use a spot puller, or id blow holes and rip the metal. Aluminum is strong, but very very weird to work with
You can beat on it, but you cant weld on it
magnets dont stick, and it melt and warps easy.
Drilling will tear it up, and its not strong enough when A hole is in it to pull on it, or you pull it weirdly.
And you can sand it, but its extremely strong.
Backyard with a 10x30 party tent or the paint booth at Ft Benning for less than 10/hour
Hell id say do it yourself. Ive painted many a cars. Some in the driveway early morning, some in a cramped garaged, some in a paint booth. It doesnt matter on anything except preparation, preparation, and preparation. Compressor, gun for primer and gun for paint, a weekend, and paint, less than 2000. Ive done my truck 3 times, about to be a fourth hopefully this year.

You can get a spool gun for a welder that will push the wire instead of pulling it or TIG it
What about 01/16/2016 I think that is the Saturday before the holiday
That should work for me if my wife doesn't have anything scheduled. We are about to go on our honey moon Friday so I will be mia until the 28th. We are doing a cruise on Royal Caribbean.

better make sure its good work! $4200 is on the low end, we charge that for a trunk, door, and bumper.
Previous shop I worked at was upwards of 40 thousand for a job.
Yeah When I got prices from shops most of them looked at the previous state of my job and wanted 6 or 7 to do the job. Mine is painted with the same paint they used from the factory and the truck was taken to bare metal. I found a retired guy in gray,Ga near macon would painted its for 3400 but his health isn't the greatest at the moment. He did it out of his home shop. He used to restore cars for 30 years.
Well at least if you spend that kind of money on your truck I might feel bad about the 390hp crate I want from summit.
