When I got hired for my civil service job my new boss put my name at the bottom of the list of employees on the team. He asked me if I had any questions, I said how long does take to get from the bottom to having your job. No one ever asked that question and he didn't have an answer, It took me 5 years.

I have always strived to be the best at whatever I was doing at the time, It has worked out pretty good for me so far. I never got a degree and that is a slight hamper right now while looking for a civilian career.

I definitly understand. I was always taught be good at whatever you do, no matter what it is. I have 2 degrees, but they are business related. Since I want to own a business, I decided to work in a collision shop. I was a mechanic at one point, and it came easy. Body shop is a challenge and I get to do mechanic work as well being the head mechanic. I want to own a shop doing restorations, and I need the back ground. White collar was not for me, I hate computers and **** unless its my own stuff im filing and adjusting. Ive always aimed for the head honcho position, and in 2.5 months, I got it.

I think they use an automatic algorithm in the code, as to not offend anyone.

Chilly this morning and pretty warm this afternoon, now is the time of year that the huge swing in temps is where people are going to start getting sick.

Plans for this weekend is to install the new speakers in the commute car.

I got 2 cans of carb cleaner and plan on pulling and cleaning the carb on the 79 and hopefully get it running again, I still need a new battery but it will turn over pretty good with jumper cables. I will also try to finally install the new grill.

I also have to figure out why the windows do not go up fully all the time on my baby girls mustang. They will crack a little automatically when you open the door and then should go all the way up after you close the door, they do not seem to go back up everytime and I am pretty sure that was how the water is getting onto the interior floorboards.

Between the wind /rain and the cold snap again almost all the leaves on the oak tree in the front yard are now on the ground. They are inside the fence so I have to clean those up.

We have that sometimes at the shop, sensor isnt realizing the door is shut, and sometimes the weather stripping has something to do with it too. Shoot some window cleaner like windex into the weather strip of the window, and run the window up and down. Keep it nice and smooth operating. Could just be a fluke thing though

I will try it, have nothing to loose at this point.

Up early and testing out my fiberglass skills, There is a piece of plastic that is on the motorhome that is behind the handle at the entrance door and keeps water from going into the motorhome. It has been broken for a while and the piece is no longer available so I taped the remaining pieces together and I am now fiber-glassing it. We will see how that turns out.

I looked into a parts store manager and the pay is really not that good. It could be a plan B if nothing else pans out but I still have some time. I am also looking into the troops to truckers program, not what I want to really do either but it is always another option. With my military driving experience I could get a commercial CDL. But I would still have to take the knowledge test, just no road test.

Talking

Wife and I camped at Unicoi State Park near Helen. We took all four dogs and they had a blast. Our camp site was near a stream, once again I am impressed with GA state parks.

No light pollution we could see so many stars. Helen, on the other hand, is nothing like I remembered from 25+ years ago. MEH.

Looked into it but you already have to have a degree.

A very productive weekend. I sprayed the carb on the 79 real good with carb cleaner and got it loosed up. I put 5 gallons of fuel in the tank and then I jumped it off. I got the truck to run but the float is stuck open and was pouring out fuel all over the place. So it looks like I need to either rebuild or replace it. But it was good to get the fluids running thru it for at least a few minutes.

I lubed the door latch's on the daughters mustang. Charged the battery since it was a little weak because I had the doors open for a while to dry the interior out. The windows finally seem to be working correctly again!! The little motor that directs the air between defrost and floor is not working so I have to replace that and then work on the A/C and then everything will be good to go!!

I got the new speakers installed in the commute car and the system sounds great!!! The black paint on the B pillars was looking really bad so I covered them with carbon fiber. I then took my heat gun and got the dash to lay down some since it has the normal edge curling. I was thinking I was done and then the change oil light came on!!

Checked air pressure and fluid levels in all the vehicles and then cleaned the wife's and daughters cars. I am going to wash the commute car and the lightning this morning before I take the wife to her doctors appointment.

Relaxed in the hot tub last night after a busy day around around homestead!!

The best part is we went and looked at Christmas lights Saturday night. Had a great time and the holidays are extra special this year since I am finally home with my family. I took a before pic of the grille on the 79 but still have not it replaced yet.
