You could also have him pick up a ScanGauge II at the local AutoZone and spend 15 minutes programming it or get it from us pre-programmed for the 6.0 here: ScanGaugeII

I already know what the oasis report woukd say... My uncle has owned the truck since new, and has only been into the dealership due to the turbo vanes sticking, and all they did was replace it. Now it's sticking again and so is my other uncles. One truck lacks top end and the other lags down low. Neither one of them like it when their trucks are down for more than a few days.

I've sent the instructions to my father and my uncle. They are both better at working on 50s and 60s trucks, but they can manage a multimeter just fine.
Just need to motivate them to do it.

If they use a multi-meter, please also convince them to tape off the sides of the leads so that only the tip is showing. It is WAY too easy to short the leads to the case, which will likely ruin his whole day.

I advised them of that. I sent them your directions for testing it Ed. Thank you for the reminder though. It's always better to be safe then have a wups.

Is there a video I can send my uncle and father, so they can see how to get at and check the ficm.

Thanks for the videos. That will help convince my uncle to do the job himself for sure. He missed his appointment at ford today because it won't start at all anymore.

That guy was driving me nuts calling it a "fikum". I almost had to stop watching it.
