Perhaps I'm the only one who doesn't hate them? I like the idea of not having to come to a complete stop at an intersection. If people know what they're doing everyone flows through smoothly. They also reduce speeds considerably so that when accidents happen they would be much more minor. Nobody's getting T-boned at 60 MPH at a round-a-bout.
Good morning everyone. Have a wonderful Friday, I know I sure will...no work today!
Good morning Pete! You are up way to early for a having the day off.

Speaking of round-a-bouts......Sartell has a huge hard on for them. They are putting them at just about every intersection. I hate driving through Sartell. In the winter, forget about it. There is an accident in one daily. Ok now my rant is over. Have a great Friday fellas!
Good morning Cory!

Good morning Tom!
I personally can't stand the roundabouts. I think if everyone knew how to use them it would help but no one does so that makes them extremely frustrating if you ask me. Lucky for me there are none out where I live yet so I hope it stays that way. Plus who ever designed those things has obviously never drove a semi around one. Impossible to keep your trailer in your lane.
The problem is that people don't know what they're doing or how to merge in a roundabout
That's only part of the problem... Then you have the idiots that are on the roundabout and drive it too fast and/or speed up to keep someone else from getting on!
Car in front of me waiting to get on the roundabout was cilpped by a car that sped up and started to spin out (slushy conditions) and then he claimed that it was the fault of the person in front of me. I gave my name and number as a witness. No one ever contacted me so I presume that everyone got screwed by their insurance companies..
My dislike for roundabouts is fully the other drivers. I see so many left hand turns the wrong way, people stopping when they aren't supposed too. People flying up on then and going over the center landscape area right into oncoming traffic. They are just a different kind of dangerous...
how are your round abouts set up? does the person in it have the right of way and the person entering yields? there are 1 or 2 in NH where the person in it has to yield to the person entering. that just doesn't seem right. We have a number of them in Vermont. They aren't for every intersection but they can work. drivers could make them more efficient if they didn't wait for the person to completely exit before entering. But that would take thinking and common sense which seems to have escaped a lot of drivers

The driver in the roundabout has the right of way. If the outside lane is open you go. But people don't get that. People that shouldn't stop do and that can be bad. I just fly through and watch out for the idiots.
