What makes the pro worth 3x the price of the regular?

The Pro uses more traditional laptop architecture as compared to tablet-spec hardware. They also have a slightly larger screen and a better kickstand design as well as a magnetic power supply as opposed to Micro USB.

Mine has a Core i5 processor and 128 GB of memory. I believe my wife paid $850 for it. The type cover is another $130 if I remember right. I have a Dell Venue Pro at work that has comparable specs, but the build quality is lousy. The power adapter uses a finicky Micro USB connection that has been unreliable for us, an the keyboards become temperamental. The build quality on my Surface is noticeably better, although the keyboard doesn't function as an external battery like the Dell offers.

Battery life is good, but it can chew through it quickly if you're doing anything that taxes the processor. Mine will go 8-9 hours for light web browsing, but throw in some HD video and that comes down quickly.

The keyboard flakiness is why I'm looking at a surface. Ive got a nextbook from same right now and I think I'll return it. I just want something for internet and Netflix

Mine has been flawless so far, and I use it every day. They're not cheap though, you can get a laptop for less than half what a Surface Pro costs. I think the light weight, great battery life, and build quality is worth it though.

Good evening guys...

iPad works pretty good too... Especially if you want consistency with other Apple devices like iPhone.

Made our first trip out into the desert on the SxS today...
Put on only about 15 miles or so but had a blast. Lots of cactus. Rocks with Petroglyphs and GOBS of sunshine!
My allergies are still kicking my butt though... It will probably take some time to get acclimated..
This is one of the bazillions of Saguaro cactus in the area. This one is a good 35' tall or taller. I'm told that they don't start growing their "arms" until they reach about 70 years of age. Many out here are multiple hundreds of years old...

I'm starting to like the windows tablets. It is nice to use the Binary Editor for tuning the Mustang and the VPN and such for accessing the servers at work.

Thanks guys...
There are multiple riding groups. Many trailer their SxS up into the mountains and then ride in deeper.. We will probably look for a trailer to do the same.
