Installing Air Boost Gauge

I just bought a 3 pod pillar for my truck from Glow Shift with the air boost, trans temp and exhaust temp gauges. Dumb question but here it goes.

Air Boost Sensor
1. On the air filter housing? If not where?
2. Before or after the air filter?
3. Does it need to be close to the Turbo?

Um... it should be after the turbo(on the intake side), before the intake manifold. You want it to read air pressure that your turbo is producing.

So it looks like I will have to remove the air filter housing and just before going into the intake manifold drill and tap the hole for the sensor. Right?

That will work fine. Just make sure you don't lose your drill shavings down into the engine.

Well I'm going to try post as much as possible on this installation since there isn't much on info on these turbo engines for after market parts. So bare with me on dumb questions!! Bought this truck 2 years ago and wanted one just like this back 1991 when I started working. Used to see these older construction guys with these badass trucks and wanted one for my self. Newer trucks can't compare to the pristine look of this body type!!

before drilling, take a good look over the turbo to intake hat.
not sure with the ATS units, but the banks units all had a pre-drilled and tapped port for boost gauge install with a small pipe plug in it.
and the up turbo pedestal has a pre-drilled and tapped port for installation of the EGT thermocouple.

My factory ATS hat does have the port. Had to wrestle and really tight filler screw out, but it works. I've heard some of the factory intake hats do not have this open port. Mine is off of a 93 if that helps any.

My 94 has the plug in the snail hat also. That's where I installed mine.
