I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with the suspension on my E450 ambulance. The driver's side front wheel tilts in at the top. A buddy said I might have to install a type of ball joint that can be adjusted. A tech looked at it and said there were different ball joints depending on how many degrees I needed to add/subtract. He also said after an eyeball measurement that mine might be too far off; that he thinks something might be bent and suggested I buy a new knuckle as the likely culprit. Does anyone know whether there are adjustable ball joints for the E450 or how one adjusts that on this vehicle?
Had the exact same issue on the '06 E450 our squad currently uses. I am not sure what the fix was but it was something along the lines of what Josh mentioned with the sleeves IIRC.
The adjustable bushings/sleeves go on the top ball joint. Some bushings are a fixed degree for caster and camber and others have multiple adjustments.

Thanks. I can tell my looking that my camber is too negative. Wonder if I should install these first and then get it aligned, or does the alignment pro need to measure first so I know which adj ball joint or sleeves to get?
Only the driver's side looks off, is it OK to install these on one side only?

Ajustable BJs Hmm.
Can't go there. Don't want a ban.
The shop can do the install and adjustment. You need a puller to get the
ond ones out some of the time. They can get a little stuck.

Alignment shop should have the whole range of bushings in stock. The basic design has been used for decades.
If you have a digital angle readout it's extremely easy to set your own camber and a tape measure for toe-in. Caster is the harder one to set.
Change the balljoint yourself and either set the alignment yourself or take it in.
As for removing the bushing, some love taps of a hammer on the knuckle will shock it loose.
