Sean.

Thanks for for the reply and info. Super helpful. I was going to get mine custom from billet specialties. What width was the s550 rear? And also probably a stupid question but what do mean by hat height?

Looking forward to to see what new builds you have in store.

Keep in mind I am s550 8.8 in the rear. I did this for 2 reasons, to get track width close to the front and get the wheel mounting surface farther out for wider shock placement and hopefully better handling.

I found that with my particular setup 7.15" backspace on an 18" wheel was as much as I could get away with. This lets the front wheel just touch the sway bar at full lock. In my opinion that is exactly where I want it to get the max width I can. I was running an 18x11.

However let it be known I was not at all afraid to roll and stretch the front fenders to make the wheels and tires fit. 295/40r18 square setup.

Rears were the same 7.15" backspace on an 11" Wheel. We added some extra hat height on the front to get a little bit of stagger and add brake clearance on the wheels.

These were custom built to specifically fit the truck.

Hit me up with any questions I can help with.

Sean
I'm asking the Same question?
What the He.. is Hat Height???
I'm running all Jaguar xjs front and rear suspension. Basic Chevrolet bolt pattern.
I'm running 20x10 rears 18x10 front
305x40x20 tires. No fender rolling...

The thickness of the brake hat can space out the wheels a bit. I'm assuming he had a spacer machined (but maybe he also tossed a washer in there as a micro-adjustment.)

Sean.

What were the specs for your 18x10 wheels. I really don’t want to stretch my fenders to much.

who are you asking about the specs of their wheels. Mine will not work with your truck. I have all Jaguar xjs front and rear suspension in my truck. So my width of my rear end is different than yours will be.
Good luck.

Hey LT. no worries. Just trying to figure out a rough idea of offset. I need to just but a wheel fitment tool.

Jason.
The wheel dealer can tell you the exact off-set front & rear. If you already have a wheel. Just take a straight edge. Lay it across the back lay your rim. Them measure down to the surface that will bolt to tour truck.
Most of these old Ford F100's came with a 9 inch rear end. Did you check rear end before you removed it. I would much rather have a 9 inch over an 8.8 rear end. The factory stock rear should be stronger. It should take any abuse your little modular motor can throw at it!
