Only 1800 miles on mine, but it seems that Ford Address all the problems on the 3.5 that everyone was having. hope the 2.7 is better.
I’m like everyone else, I do worry about the long term reliability of the 2.7 ecoboost. I’m doing the maintenance and making sure great oil and filters are on her. This engine is unreal so
Here is my Baby! 2.7 ecoboost STX 4wd crew cab, never liked driving anything like I do this truck!
far, better mpg’ than my old Tacoma way more comfort and this thing will scat! I’ve read that the 2.7 has become the biggest selling engine in the F150 line and I figure if a lot of guys that know way more about engines than me are buying, they have to be ok. Gas Milege is something people lie about, the other day I ran into a guy with a RAM Rebel 5.7 and he said he was getting 26 mpg on the highway, little hard to believe, I can tell you I have been a little over 23 in a trip and that’s putting the calculator to it. Usually though in town around 19.4, never got that out of the Tacoma. People say the 2.7 is built like a Diesel engine and that’s gotta be a good thing! I’ve not had a lot of great vehicles over the years, but this STX 4wd with Crew is my favorite so far. I use to wonder why you see so many full size trucks, now I know!

about a year ago I got my 2.7 STX Crew 4wd, as a former Tacoma owner I can tell you I ain’t looked back since! Comfort, gobs of Torque and a lot more utility! My wife loves this trucks great ride. Nearly 1 million F150’s sold and now I see why, never would say that it’s s better truck than the RAM or GM’s, but man this is a great truck all the way around. Not getting the mpg’s some claim, but living in the mountains of southern West Virginia, really can’t expect to get what flat landers get, still about 1mpg better than my old v6 Tacoma with s manual transmission and 4wd crew. Haven’t been back to the dealer a single time, so quality is great, enjoy your ride, the color looks awesome!
My 2013 3.5L with 110,000 still runs strong as does my 2016 2.7 with 22,000 Miles and our new EcoBoost Explorer runs great.
The seems to be some misconception that every 3.5l has problems when the vast majority don't. 70k on my 2013. Runs like the day I bought it new. It's still my all time favorite truck. It's never even had a check engine light. No recalls, nothing. It's been as close to perfect as you can get, though I did change plugs at 40k and I think the rotors could stand to be turned. Also, bought a 2017 2.7l for my son and I have to say, I am impressed. That little engine runs extremely strong and gets great economy to boot. I also have several ecoboosts in my fleet, including several escapes and a 2015 2.7l F150. All my stuff is low mileage but every one of them has been flawless.

Not sure what business you own or just s lot of vehicles in your family, but that is great to hear. Have a good friend in Longview Texas with a steel bodied F150 with the 3.5 EB and well over 150k on her, asked him if he’d had to replace the Turbos yet, he gave me that look like what are you even talking about. Hope the 2.7 are as good! Can’t say that a single time over the past 10 months have I thought man I wish I’d bought a V8, these things just run so good.
Nice looking truck. I don’t even give engine reliability a second thought. My 2.7 tows my car and my boat better than some V8s of yesterday.
Thank You for the compliment, I am really happy with this truck, in are area owning a Ford is a little like being a Trump supporter in San Francisco, everyone is like why didn’t you get a Silverado. Can’t say much about Chevys, but compared to my ole Tacoma, well to be honest no comparison, only thing that the Tacoma was better at than the F150 was being easy to park.
Does anyone have the 2.7 eco in a crew cab truck? Does the extra weight of that cab configuration hurt the performance of the truck any?
not a bit my friend, these things are quick, my Crew has 4wd and ain’t a bit slow! Get dual climate control though, once my wife gets in, she takes over the heater control and all I can do is suffer, mines a xl STX.
My friend at work has a 2013 crewcab F150 3.5 Ecoboost 4x4. He's got over 125,000 miles on it and hasn't had any mechanical problems, yet. We shall see what the future holds....
