3.5 EB rough idle on cold starts
Hello Ford family. I'm crashing this truck forum in hopes that the higher traffic around here will help narrow down the issue I'm having on my 2013 Flex with the 3.5 EB. It has less than 33k miles and has developed a rough idle on cold starts (after sitting 3 hours or so). Previously, I had a flashing CEL with P0131 & P0302. These codes were cleared (by nearest mechanic...this was during a road trip) and vehicle ran seemingly normal afterwards, except for the rough idle on cold starts. A few weeks later the CEL came on with P219A and this time I was able to go to the dealership. After diagnosis, they did a PCM update but the rough idle persists.
Again, the rough idle exists only on cold starts. Other than this, and perhaps a more gassy odor from the exhaust when I start her up (since PCM update), and once I noticed a bit of white smoke wafting from the exhaust in the middle of the day, there are no other driveability symptoms that I can detect.
On the Flex, bank 1 and cylinder 2 is by the firewall and obscured by the intake manifold. If it weren't so I'd have checked the injector and plugs myself already. So before I go through the trouble of taking things apart and buying specialty tools, I thought I'd ask around here for help. I'm still under Powertrain and Emissions warranty but instead of wasting another $200 for diagnosis, I want to be able to tell the dealership exactly what is wrong.
Thanks in advance...!
