Trans Error Code

To make a long story short. I had a "low input temp sensor" fault on the transmission. I replaced the three solenoids and temp sensor in the bottom of the transmission and added new fluid. I'm still getting the "trans error" code. Everything is working/shifting like it should, just tired of the beeping and code on the dash. Any ideas? Thanks!

My idea would be to find out what's wrong instead of changing parts and hoping for the best.

Since a new sensor didn't fix it that only leaves the wiring as a possibility to be the culprit. Either the internal harness inside the trans or the wiring between the PCM and the transmission. With a wiring diagram, a meter, and some knowhow someone could diagnose this pretty quickly.

I took it to a local transmission shop and had them scan it for the codes.

The problem here is all too common. @Mark Kovalsky is spot on. Too many assume "code" means "part".

The very definition of a code (noun) - is a set of rules or a system of communication, often with randomly assigned numbers and letters given specific meanings. ( Not "specific parts". )

All the codes can be the result of several parts. With some creativity and thought, they can all be cross checked against some known constants to isolate the specific meaning before replacing sensors or parts.

You didn't say, but presumably you were referring to a code P0712 - which has, among others mentioned by Mark Kovalsky", the following meanings.

- Faulty Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor
- Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
