Thanks Sparky, I am loving my new ride. Hopefully if I am lucky enough to get a 7.3 powered truck, it will be the last truck I buy also. I am almost positive the Thunderbird is my last car.
More good news to report. Went to WestCare today to requalify for their services, and when my case worker found out I bought a car, and it needed tires, and to fix a power steering fluid leak, she told me to get two estimates for the tires, and repair work, and she would give me a check for each up to $1,000. So I went to America's Tire, and Les Schwab, and got two estimates for four tires, and Les Schwab also gave me an estimate for replacing the rack and pinion unit. Then went to my favorite repair shop (Kar Tech) and got an estimate for the rack and pinion repair. His estimate was $96 cheaper than Les Schwab, so most likely they will give me a check to have the work done there. However, Les Schwab's estimate for four tires was cheaper than America's Tire, so I am sure they will cut me a check for them. Needless to say I am an even happier camper now. $900 worth of repairs,/tires for free! Works for me. (Sometimes it pays to be a veteran. In this case, an ex-homeless veteran.)
I was going to buy four tires when my next paycheck came. Now I don't have to. And since I have overpaid my rent these past 4 months, December's rent is free. So I will have even more money to work with. I can get a car cover for it, and renew my AAA membership in November instead of waiting until December. And I might even be able to get a back up camera, which will help me when trying to back into that parking stall without hitting anything. LOL
Happy Halloween Nor Cal FTE. Or if you like this better, happy last day of October! Only two more months until the end of 2015, and the beginning of 2016.
