P0405 code
This morning when attempting a cold start of my 05 6.0, it would not start was noticeably harder cranking. I had no CEL. I checked my scan Guage and the volts were 13.4 and fcm main power was 48.4. I checked and I had a p0405 code. Can anyone help me out as to what could be going on? I read that it can be a stuck or bad EGR valve? Any help would be appreciated. Could it be battery related? Thanks

That code is,an EGR code. Check the connector, the wire and pull the valve and clean it. Clear the code and see what happens.

the batteries have nothing to do with EGR internal fault... you probably have a bad sensor.
I'd also check the alternator output since the batteries went... normally its from a bad alternator. be fast about it, low voltage from batteries and alternator will kill the FICM.

And your codes reset because you changed out the batteries. As Randy said, they have nothing to do with the EGR internal fault code. It will reappear.

What is the easiest or best way to test the alternator? My scan Guage is showing my volts at 13.5?

Ok who's Randy.
Test the alternator by removing it and go to autozone and bench test it.
Still wont fix a p0405 though.
