As stated above, I was told that the VXCF9 strategy in my PCM will set the wrench light when the ECT/EOT delta is too high for a certain length of time and engine load.
Like suggested, I'm gonna have to park it (except for some short runs) until it's replaced.
I think that is the key. On my trip back I was keeping an eye on my Dashboss. The light didn't trip right when it hit 25°. Just don't know what the duration is.
The good thing for me is I live 18 miles from work and typically don't get more than 15° difference in that distance.
I am making a trip to Utah on Sunday and was debating on taking my truck... Well that AIN'T happening...
In addition to the EOT/ECT delta, what will make the wrench light come on? I've been told the transmission can as well but I have no othe specifics.
On my previous 06 I would get the wrench in addition to a CEL for a P0299 when pulling, which would put the truck into limp mode. The good thing about the wrench is it resets when the truck is turned off, though it will come back if the same conditions are met.
