Ok so here is my problem now. I'm sure its in the tramny but not sure what else. My shift from 3-5 has always been a little hard. Yesterday on my way to work I noticed shifts 1 thru 3 were hitting hard. Once I got up to 65 mph it was okay. Then pulling into work when I shifted to reverse it didn't go into gear right away and then it would hit into gear. Later that evening on my way home from work it was shifting the same but seemed worse. Then my tow/haul light started flashing and it seemed like the torque convertor wouldn't lock in. It would just stay in 5th gear and the more throttle I gave it the rpms would go up but I would only get a little response from it. Then a few miles down the road it just completely shut off on me. It will not even try to turn over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I could also hear a noise coming from underneath the truck. Something ive never heard before. I really need to figure this out
You need to get the codes read. The places that read codes free don't have the right tool to read them. You need either a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.
Yes I plan on doing that. I just had it towed home today and had to leave for work so didn't have a chance. I do have the autoenginuity scan tool with the enhanced ford package. Would that work?
Alright so I came home from work to hook up the autoenginuity scan tool and I think my truck was too far from my house because my wifi wouldn't connect to the scan tool. And not to mention my 80 year old grandmother who watches my 3rd old son woke up with a muscle spasm about a hour before I got there and fell and busted her head open. I'm sure I didn't have to share that but that's what set me back 2hrs tonight. But amyway. The scan tool wouldn't connect will try tomorrow but one thing I did notice was when I opened the door and put the key in the dome lights where on and normal, but when I would go to try and turn the truck over the dome and dash lights would just flicker like a strobe light. Please any help is much needed

Have you checked battery voltage? You may have a bad alternator that allowed the batteries to go low and the trans and engine won't function correctly with low voltage. See what you got and check connections. Keep us posted.
okay so i disconnected both the batteries and checked the voltage with my meter. I only got 9.4 volts out of the passenger side and 10.9 volts out of the drivers side battery. i should be getting 12volts correct? Are they both shot? The battery is only six months old. Could a bad alternator have caused that? BTW the autoenginuity only gave me two torque convertor codes. and also a low battery voltage and a few others one that i believe are related to the low battery voltage
Yes, both batts (one battery when connected actually) should read 12.6 at 70F when measured individually. They both need to be charged up several hours or overnight with an outboard charger, if they are still serviceable.
When a battery drops below 11 volts it is in danger of cell reversal, keep batteries charged at all times.

For both to run down you more than likely have a failed alternator. Recharge both batteries. Take a reading again with the meter, should be around 12.6v. Start the truck and after 1 minute take a reading again. It should be higher than what it read initially, probably will read around 13.5v. If it is not in the 13v+ range your alternator is not working. Replace and retest. Post results.

Alright guys so I made just alil bit of progress. I got the truck started. Charged both Batts overnight and got alternator checked and It was dead. So got the new alternator on and got it fired up. But now it will not go into any gear at all. Just revs up. And when I put it in reverse I get no throttle response at all. Like it doesn't even rev up. I'm completely lost. I do have autoenginuity tool and scanEd codes but new to using it. Let me see if I can post the screen shot of what it all said.
Did you have BOTH batteries disconnected while charging? Can you reset KAM with the Autoenginuity? Or disconnect both batteries and turn on the headlight switch to drain it down. Wait 20 minutes, reconnect and try again.
While waiting 20 minutes check all fuses.
