My oil cooler is ok for now, but when it has to be changed im going to put in a remote oil cooler! So what do you guys think is the best to go with? BPD air cooler, BPD liquid cooled one, or IPR liquid cooled one?
Interesting nobody has responded. Not many remote water cooled oil coolers out there.
I like the IPR remote oil cooler kit because they were the first and BDP absolutely trashed them when they came out with it. BPD is responsible for making it to controversial. Now BPD has the remote water cooled oil cooler kit. Imagine that? Obviously I lost a lot of respect for BPD because of their business practices.
By the way, I do not have a remote oil cooler kit installed. I am looking at it because i run elevated EOTs when towing. I think the key to difference between the IPR and BPD remove oil cooler kits is the way they handle the oil filter bypass and the oil cooler bypass valving. I know IPR combines the oil filter bypass and the oil cooler bypass in the same valve. I don't know how BPD's handles this. I think BPD uses the OEM oil filter (25 microns I think) and IPR uses a replacement oil filter (28 microns) with a higher flow rating. I think the IPR will provide less bypass under high demand than the OEM because the flow is less restrictive. I suspect BPD is the same, but I don't know as much about their kit.
I have the BPD remote oil cooler. After second stock cooler plugged up decided to go this route no problems ever since. Oil temps never get too high when towing. It is a nice kit.
