It doesn't exist as far as I could tell. I switched to the late model pump so I could run the 180. I'm a hater of the IH pump anyways, so it wasn't a big deal to me. Lol. Love my OEM Ford pump and diesel site coolant filter.
You sparked my curiosity so I asked Dieselsite about a 180° and this is the reply I got from Bob.
"Your thermostat only regulates minimum operating temps. The radiator regulates maximum operating temps.
IH trucks all use 205 stats in their medium duty rigs with the same engine. The thermostat will have no affect on your pulling loaded temps. It will only maintain a higher unloaded temp."

Well Glenn, I do know from experience that the 203*, which I have had, causes much higher EOTs. I am not worried about coolant temps as much, but the 180* definitely helps keep the oil temperatures down around 205-210 while the hotter 195 or 203 allows them to get up to the 230-235 range. I talks to Clay at length about this. He said it won't really hurt anything engine wise, but definitely shortens oil life. Either way, seeing EOTs at 210-220 while towing feels WAY better than seeing 235.
I'm also wondering why Travis has a dislike for IH pumps? Basically the same except for the darn short stem thermostats, I think?
My hate towards the IH pump isn't from a reliability stand point or anything. I dislike the iron construction, the short stem thermostat, and having the coolant filter mounted directly on the pump. I also dislike that its a fairly special pump that I can replace in a pinch. It has to be ordered or you must find an IH dealer. I've seen water pumps fail more than once in such a way that the blades of the pump start rubbing the front cover and in that situation I want to be able to get a pump same day and get the truck going again. Just my own preference. I like my coolant filter mounted off to the side and like having a conventional pump I can easily find a replacement for.

I am pretty much there with you. I almost got one yesterday and decided against it for the reasons stated above. On the positive side, my cooling system looks pretty clean from what I can see. No pitting or buildup anywhere.
I called you earlier but stonewalled...or did I call at a bad time...hope things are better now.
I saw you were calling and went to pick up the phone and it disconnected. Sorry 'bout that. I had coolant and trans fluid all over my hands or I would have called you back. I got carried away trying to get everything disassembled for the new parts today. I'll try to holler at you today. Me and the situation should be more calm. LOL
Question....if my radiator looks clean and flows well when pressure is applied to the top inlet and comes out the bottom inlet with gusto, is there a good chance my radiator is good? It's easy to replace if it isn't, but I am really hoping it's alright. I am running out of $$ for this budget until Spring.
In keeping with the thread title, here is what has been done the last 2 weeks and 2 years
1) CX Racing IC
2) Rosewood Injectors
3) T500 HPOP
4) Motorcraft WP
5) E-Fuel
6) Bellowed Uppies
7) John Wood HD Trans
8) tightened oil dipstick nut LOL
9) Did I mention WP due to my idiocy?
Thanks for reading dudes..the water pump debacle was not supposed to be part of the "build" LOL
All good points Travis! I probably shouldn't be traveling with a IH. We should have had this discussion a week ago and I would have gotten a diesel site one to put on. Oh well, maybe this winter I'll get one on.
Edit: considering all the hoses and bolts maybe I should just get a spare IH to carry with me. Be cheaper anyway, those dieselsite one's are expensive!

Glenn, why don't you do it while the engine is out? It is MUCH easier as I am sure you know. In talking with Clay, the Motorcraft one is as good as any and should last the life of the truck. My original has 230k on it and is still going strong minus the broken bolt...

Or just stay with the low mileage OEM unit that is on there now instead of swapping over the IH piece....

At least it's not just me! I'm not a hater either, but for the same reasons I like what I have.
Only thing is I would like to filter out the sand. I couldn't believe how much came out of the mare in only 4K miles. Another decision to make and I don't know the size of the thermostat that's in it now. On some tough hills it only got about straight up and down on the gauge.
Its more complicated then that JP. The bolts are different lengths, the heater hoses are shortened, the lower radiator hose is a cummins hose, etc. Now if I carried a spare IH WP (they are cheap) then problem solved. I have a filter installed on the Mule that's mounted on the firewall but I personally like the IH. IDK It was the hot thing to do there for awhile but now its a piece of ........? Maybe I should just leave the low mileage WP on the OX and take the IH pump and stuff home with me, again IDK!
