Help... When I switch from 2h to 4h i get a 4x4 error on the information screen some times and other times it works fine. So I been playing with it a bit and I have noticed when I put the switch from 2h to 4h it will show on the dash I am actually going into 4l instead of 4h. I am trying to get a idea what would cause this. I have a extended warranty on the truck, but if it is something easy to fix then I rather just do it myself.
The truck is a 2011 F-150 3.5eb Lariat Supercrew if that helps.

Any help would be appreciated.
Well that would be pretty impossible on the move since it takes you to be in neutral to shift into 4 wheel low.
It should be impossible but trust me the grinding and horrible noise says other wise. It is defiantly trying to and the light on the message center says it's trying to go 4l even though the **** says 4h.

Hi Scarydecoy,
As some of the other folks have suggested, it sounds like it's dealer time to me. How many miles are on your truck?
It has 65k on it. I got a hold of the wiring diagram and the transfer case motor seems to put it in 4l and 4h obviously, but it also looks like it senses if its in 4h or 4l. I am guessing that motor is going to far and then also seeing it is to far. That's about the only thing I came up with.
I will take it to a dealer next few days i think. Kinda swamped at work atm. When I do I will update this thread.
