I'm in the process of dropping my e4od transmission. Feel free to check my other thread if you'd like.
While I was under there letting some fluid drain out of one of the lines, I remembered something. I'd overfilled it when testing stuff earlier, so I pulled a hose tranny cooler and started the truck to drain it a bit. I'd that that about a week before and the flow was pretty good. That last time, though, it kind dribbled out rather slowly. But when I gravity drained it today, it seemed like it wasn't much slower.
I tested electrical connections a couple of day ago and they were fine. It's a new harness. Both EPC wires were getting power at the harness. With the harness plugged in, I checked for continuity in the wires mentioned here as well, and it was fine.
I did have a 99 code before, which is pressure control = pump. But I cleared the code after fixing stuff, and the code went away.
Could my pump suddenly have gone out? Am I worrying over nothing? If I need to replace the pump, I'll want to do it while I have the tranny out. Is there a way to test it before I drop $$ on a replacement?
it should pump right out with authority with the truck running.there's not much mistaken it.she's pumping right or isn't.no dribbles.you want gushing.
did you remove the rear or front line? if after the cooler(s) try again at the front of the trans where it pumps out.if good, then next check after the radiator.if no good here, flush this cooler out.if good flow, then try after the aux cooler.if no good, replace aux cooler.

No, it does NOT equal pump. There is no code for a pump problem. DTC 99 indicates a fault in the E4OD transmission Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) circuit. That's not the pump.
Ah, gotcha. Either way, is there a way to test it while I have the transmission dropped? I hate to put it back together to test it, then take it out again.
