Just installed the DI fuel shim kit. Think it burned up the fuel pump. The filter bowl is no longer filling, and I cant hear the pump. I think its done. I just want to hear someone else tell me that im right before I throw the money at a new pump.
Also, I figure I can get a OEM pump for about $230. Would it be worth it to pony up the extra for an aftermarket pump? If so, what are your recommendations?
Links?
Yeah, not something to skimp on. I posted a simple jumper test on the pump a few days ago. Really want to make sure your pump is toast before replacing and finding out it's a fuse or wiring.
Just remember, there 's a function test and then a load test. I've not covered the load test. Any pump can run, but can it run under load?
I will test the pump this afternoon. I was also told to check the relay. any idea on where this might be?
I have a strong feeling that the increased stress on the pump due to the higher pressure just made the pump give way. Its the origional pump and has 125k miles on it.
Also, should I fear any more damage, since the truck ran dry before I realized that I wasnt getting any fuel?
