There has been a lot of discussion lately about replaceing springs. When doing this DO NOT froget the Shackle Bolts and Bushings.
These are from my 48 F1, Front Spring, front lower shackle bolt & bushing.
I had to split the bushing (at the thick area) to get it out.

The Picture was supposed to shoe, go to My Gallery under flathead stuff, for more pictures.

Yup - they tend to wear out like that. Amazing how much better your truck will handle when you get all the worn out parts replaced! I think there was a comment some time back to the effect that the original equipment in these trucks may get a bad rap because folks forget or don't know about all the stuff that needs service after 50 years.

I agree, some of my pins looked as bad as yours. It makes a huge difference in handling quality. Don't forget to keep them greased regularly after they are replaced.
