Strange Squeeling

When i accelerate i get a loud squeel until my truck changes a few gears. Its only when i accelerate and only if my trucks warm and has been running or a few mins. Cold start it wont happen right away. No idea what it is or could be. Changed my serpintine belt that didnt help. Anyone have any ideas?

It might be a pulley. I had one squeal for almost a year before I could locate the noise.

you can get your truck warm/ up to temp...shut it off...then pop off the serpentine belt and spin each component(by hand) to see which is making more noise. It could be just about anything that is driven by the belt...to help hear which item is squawking you might need a mechanics stethoscope or a long handled screwdriver held up your ear.
it also could be vacuum leak...associated with after it it gets up to temp...maybe with the AIC or the egr, but that is extreme. If it runs fine ...meaning no lose of power at anytime, then odds are that is not the issue.

what have you done to track this down? any resent work done prior to this noise?

I just Traded for the truck and this is the last thing to fix for the truck to be all good besides just a few dings in the paint

I got the sound to go away when i went through a mud puddle. But im afraid when i drive it today the sound comes back. Anyone know what it could have been if it just needed to be wet?

No ...nothing on the serpentine belt and it components "need" to be wet. (on the out side) Odds are you have a bearing out and the wet of the puddle momentarily lubed it and made it quit. It'll prolly come back as soon as it drys out.

Now there are those items that are moving fluids...power steering, A/C, and water pump.

IF you got a ...more economical belt...now that may be stretching and the splash cooled it a bit to make it stop.

The other thing is, it maybe the tensioner for the belt is weak & not keeping proper tension on the belt. there by - letting it slip

Do you have any clue what bearing it would be?

naw..could be anything...like mentioned in post #3...you gonna have to spin each of the individual components and see which is the worst.

as long as you under the hood make sure the intake tubing from the air filter to the engine is all tight & installed properly
