weird noise

some times my truck makes a weird humming noise while idleing, its coming out of the enging bay. it goes away after i drive it for little while. anyone know what it could be

Try geting a long screwdriver,put the handle to your ear and start poking stuff with the other end.This may help determin where the sound is coming from.

harbor freight or even autozone sells a stethescope for the same thing and a little better than using a long screwdriver or a 36 inch extension
i had a wierd noise in mine and it turned out the belt was freying and this made a noise where the stripping end of the belt was hiting against a pulley or something i swapped out the belt and she was fine
